Researchers, business leaders, policymakers, students, and educators all have a role to play in the international climate negotiations, and Minnesotans from all sectors will be attending COP21 Nov. 30- Dec. 11. The COP21 climate conference, which aims to achieve a legally binding and universal agreement among the 190 participating countries that will keep climate change below 2⁰ C, wraps up on December 12; after that, we must all begin the work of turning climate policy into reality.

Climate Generation will be hosting a public panel discussion of students, business leaders, educators and policymakers to discuss and reflect on what happened at COP21 and what we can do next in Minnesota. The event is free and open to the public. The panel will be moderated by David Gillette (Twin Cities-PBS) and panelists will include:

  • Laura Bishop, Vice President, Public Affairs & Sustainability, Best Buy
  • Macalester College representative
  • Kate Knuth, Boreas Leadership Program Director, Institute on the Environment & PhD Candidate
  • Ellen Anderson, Executive Director, University of Minnesota Energy Transition Lab
  • Beckie Alexander, Breck School Earth Science Teacher & Climate Generation Education Ambassador
  • Representative Melissa Hortman
