Other Publications & Reports
Energy Storage
The Economics of Battery Energy Storage (Rocky Mountain Institute)
A more in-depth, battery energy storage focused analysis with an emphasis on 13 identified applications of battery storage to customers, utilities, and RTO/ISOs, along with economic benefit potential
“Battery-based energy storage is an important component of an increasingly secure, reliable, low carbon, and cost-effective electricity future. Energy storage has the potential to help integrate deeper penetrations of renewable energy onto electricity grids large and small, accelerate the adoption of other distributed energy resources by enabling customer independence, and, perhaps most importantly, deliver efficient, low-cost, fundamental electricity-grid services to society at large…”
Energy Storage for the Electricity Grid: Benefits and Market Potential Assessment Guide (Sandia National Laboratories)
A high-level, technology neutral framework for assessing Energy Storage Economic Potential
“Electric energy storage is poised to become an important element of the electricity infrastructure of the future. The storage opportunity is multifaceted – involving numerous stakeholders and interests – and could involve potentially rich value propositions. Those rich value propositions are possible because, as described in this report, there are numerous potentially complementary and significant benefits associated with storage use that could be aggregated into attractive value propositions…”
U.S. Energy Storage Monitor: 2015 Year in Review Executive Summary (GTMResearch)
A comprehensive Energy Storage Market Analysis
“U.S. Energy Storage Monitor is a quarterly publication of GTM Research and the Energy Storage Association (ESA). Each quarter, we gather data on U.S. energy storage deployments, prices, policies, regulations and business models. We compile this information into this report, which is intended to provide the most comprehensive, timely analysis of energy storage in the U.S….”
New York Battery and Energy Storage Consortium Roadmap
This Roadmap recommends specific actions for the energy storage industry, policy-makers and stakeholders to take to ensure that New York’s electric grid and economy realize the enormous benefits of energy storage.
